Well, I didn't. The university created that userID for me. Conveniently it's unique nearly everywhere I go, hence why I keep using it. Then some brittish schmuck registered my first choice for a domain name so I took this one. It works for people like me with poor memory. Although people never remember the first time I tell them. But once they know, they can find me anywhere.
