Sometimes when you finish your install and you try to get those 1st check results, you'll get an ungly error like this: CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not complete SSL handshake Connection refused by host.

The simplest answer... You don't have your nagios server properly specified in the "allowed_hosts" of your NRPE config. I always forget this.
